Fortunately you can get the normal estate version, which is a much better looking car.

it would be worse being the guy that constantly has to say “no we cant do that it’s too expensive.”

It’s pretty sad, especially since while obviously it was going to need a real b-pillar (and thicker pillars in general), there doesn’t seem to be much reason they couldn’t have used most of the concept’s styling.

Would have been better off on the Stinger platform.

Nah, bean counters don’t feel anything when they stop people from having fun. That’s why they became bean counters.

“How can we maintain the abysmal visibility of the aggressive concept, yet lose all aggression? How about giant slabby sides that dwarf even the largest wheels?”
“Yeah, that should work...but can we dial in a little more Dynamic?”
“Yes, we’ll just rake the rear glass to cut the cargo space in half
, everyone is doing it.”

I do have to say that pretty often. J o ah once asked me “W hy inst your BMW an M3?” simple answer was “I cant afford an M3.”

From what I’ve seen, t here’s a surprising overlap in the professional finance world with car enthusiasts .
Unfortunately, none of them work for car companies. I think they get weeded out in the interviews.
I once bombed an interview at a Honda plant when I was about a year out of college. They handed me three identical parts and gave me a scenario about failure rates and cost. I talked all about tradeoffs and time between failures and market segments. They said the answer was “this one because it’s the cheapest.”
And that was early 2000s Honda.

All b ean c ounters are finance majors, not all finance majors are bean counters.

Honestly, the production roofline is better there.

I agree, you can actually fit passengers back there that aren’t just kids.
